The club awards trophies to members to recognise their achievements. These are usually earned over a season and presented at the AGM at the end of the season in late spring.
Joe Green Trophy
The Joe Green Trophy is an award for the Annual Print Competition. This competition is an open competition and usually represents ‘the best of the best’ prints from throughout the season.
Shirley Arnold remembers Joe Green:
Joe green was well known in the town as he wandered around wearing his flat cap, carrying his camera, stopping to talk to everyone, and taking photos. An extremely kind man who was ready to give help to any one this was in the time of black and white. I have memories of going to his home to be shown the techniques of B&W and being plied with tea and cake by Chris, his wife. He produced excellent prints, especially portraits, his speciality. When ever there was a new employee at the Water research centre, Medmenham where he was a biologist, he would persuade them to have their portrait taken. Many homes in Marlow will have a framed print, in colour of ‘Thunder over the bridge’ which was displayed in the window of Keens the camera shop and all the proceeds given to charity. Also he made prints of every building in the High St and mounted them as a montage , several feet long. This is now a valuable historical document which is , I think, with the Marlow Society museum. It has been displayed several times in the town on special occasions. His other interest was bricks. We had outings to see hand made bricks being made and trips around the town to see how they were used..

Wadsworth Trophy
The Wadsworth Cup is an award for the most points accumulated over the season for Prints in ordinary competitions.
Shirley Arnold remembers Norman Wadsworth:
Norman Wadsworth was an excellent B&W photographer. When colour prints came in he again made superb colour prints, too. This was a difficult and expensive technique to do at home, so many members of the club had their photos printed commercially, which he strongly disapproved of. When the committee refused to ban this, he resigned from the club!

Ray Reeder Trophy
The Ray Reeder Trophy is an award for the best “Low Light” image from all the competitions throughout the year, chosen by the competition secretary.
Andy Kirby remembers Ray Reeder:
Ray Reeder was a prominent member of the club, a retired police officer who enjoyed his photography and went on extended trips to Scotland in his camper van to photograph the landscape and wildlife. Ray was skilled at all aspects of photography and keen to lend a hand with our workshops. Ray was a good communicator and educator helping many members perfect skills and techniques. When Ray passed away, his family donated this award to the club and we decided to offer it for low-light photography as that was a favourite technique he was known for.

Jubilee Trophy
The Jubilee Trophy is an award for Monochrome Photography. It is one of the awards in the “Three Cups” competition.
For the purposes of this trophy, Monochrome is defined as having infinite tones from light to dark, but from only one hue or colour. This includes traditional Black & White with the various grey tones in between but could equally be any single colour hue, for example Sepia or Cyanotype. Duotone and split tone images containing more than one hue do not fit the remit of “monochrome”.
The heritage of this trophy is unknown, but it is likely related to the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in February 1977.
